Avocado Chocolate Mousse
df, gf, ef, nf,
Alright, I know! Avocado in chocolate mousse! What??!!!
Don't knock it until you've tried it.. This is beyond delicious, and a fantastic dessert to have in your repertoire when you're wanting to eat clean and healthy.. It's processed sugar free, so the only sugar you have in there is from the banana and a bit of maple syrup or honey. Add in the cacao in this dessert (or snack... ssshhhh) and you're upping your intake of magnesium and iron, along with the anti-inflammatory benefits of the mono-unsaturated (i.e... good) fats in the avocado. Because of the avocado, it's a fantastic dessert to make in the cooler months, when avocado's are in season. I usually get so excited when they start coming down in price that I tend to over buy them, then they go brown.. Therefore because it can be made cheaply with yummy, good for you foods, it almost makes this silky, smooth, delicious dessert a health food ;) ..
All you need is a food processor and away you go, it takes 20 seconds to mix up..
What you need:
Feeds 6....
2 small, ripe bananas (if large, just use one)
2 ripe avocado's
1/2 cup honey or maple syrup ( I prefer maple, but honey is good too)
1/2 cup raw cacao
1 tsp vanilla paste
pinch sea salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Place all ingredients into your food processor and process until silky and smooth. Transfer into 6 small glasses, ramekins or in a large bowl in the fridge.
