I love these, especially on a balmy summer evening. The picture above is the pattie as a bunless burger. The burger is wrapped in a lettuce cup topped with slaw and sauerkraut.. Can easily been made into smaller meatballs or medium sized burger patties for lunches.. So yummy
Meatballs and patties
What you need:
500 gm organic mince of choice
1 onion finely chopped
1 heaped teaspoon wholegrain mustard
1 tsp sea salt
added optionals : parsley, dried herbs, parmesan cheese
What you need to do:
Slowly cook the onion in a little coconut oil until soft, add it to your minced meat and all other ingredients. Mix all together and roll into desired sized meatballs.
You can either cook these in the oven for 20 mins on 180 degrees celcius, or cook them on the BBQ for about 10 minutes. Don't over cook them, they are best a little pink on the inside, as they continue to cook once taken off. Serve straight away or keep in the fridge to add to lunch boxes..
*if using for lunch boxes, they are great served with tooth picks and a little container of homemade tomato sauce.
