Healthy Ice Magic

(Do you remember ice magic growing up? You'd beg with your mum or dad to buy it, eventually they'd give in (boy is that forever asking coming back to bite me with my own kids), then excitedly you'd squeeze it over your ice cream for that 'once in a while' treat. It was MAGIC, it set hard, right there in front of you.. The only problem is that there really isn't any nutritional value of this so called food, in fact, mainly made up of emulsifiers (which more and more research is telling us that they interfere with your gut microbes and can therefore disrupt many chemical reactions in your body that are necessary for healthy functioning), processed sugar, skim milk powder and flavours.. Well... the below recipe does the same magic setting thing, but it has the added benefit of being made from all natural ingredients that actually have healing and protective properties. Like coconut oil, which is a inflammatory food, as it delivers the body good omega 3's to help with healing and repair. Raw cacao (as opposed to cocoa) which contains many important vitamins and minerals, and maple syrup which is an unprocessed natural sweetener, which your body is more able to assimilate... There you are, enough babble, on with the recipe, which is so simple you'll be left wondering why on earth it was manufactured the other way in the first place!)....
What you need:
1/2 cup Coconut Oil (100gms)
1/2 cup Cacao (50gm)
1/4 cup honey/Maple/rice syrup (80gms)
What you need to do:
Gently melt all ingredients in a small saucepan, then pour into a clean & dry glass lidded jar.. This can be stored in fridge and melted again by submerging jar into a jug of boiling water.. It keeps for months at a time...
For Frozen Banana Bites..
Cut up frozen banana into bite sized pieces, stick a toothpick into each piece, dip into your chocolate ice magic & place on a lined baking tray. Return to the freezer & eat as required...
It's good to have small pieces because they're much easier to eat..
