Green Smoothie #1
Green Smoothie #1
This feeds my family of 6 as part of our breakfast with some left over, so feel free to reduce the amounts to suit your family's needs. The ice is important to help break down the fibrous greens and remember to pull the kale leaves away from the tough stem, otherwise your smoothie won't be so smooth.
What you need:
1 handful of mix of spinach and kale
a few mint leaves
1 handful of ice cubes
1 frozen banana*
1 green apple
1/2 avocado
1/2 cucumber
optional add on's;
What you need to do:
Place ingredients, in order listed above, into your food processor or blender. Don't forget to put any of your add on's in before blending.
*Frozen banana's I find break down better than unfrozen. I also peel any browning banana's, break them into thirds and put them in snap lock bags in the freezer for smoothies, quick banana ice cream, and choc-dip banana's.. Always great for a quick dessert or hot day snack
