Bliss Balls-nut free option

These are really quick to make, in fact I made them in 10 minutes this morning when I realised that I was going on a big walk and might need a healthy treat to keep me going and give me sustenance. They are equally as nice with or without the nuts, the nuts and/or seeds give a good boost of magnesium and selenium which most of us are a little depleted in because the soils that our fruit and veg grow are equally as depleted. We need these essential minerals for hundreds of different functions that happen everyday in our bodies. The cacao adds in some magnesium and much needed iron too.
Bliss Balls - nut free option
You'll need:
1 cup (150g) dates, chopped
1 cup (150g) dried fruit - I used a mix of apricots and sour cherries
1 cup (100g) desiccated coconut or oats
1 Tbls (20g) of hulled tahini or coconut cream
3 teaspoons cacao
large handful of brazil nuts, pepitas (pumpkin seeds) or sunflower. For nut free, leave out the nuts, double up on the seeds.
extra desiccated coconut for rolling in.
Place all ingredients in your thermomix or food processor and process until all coming together. If you have added the nuts, you might need to add a tablespoon of water to help bring mixture together as it might be a little dry.
